Landau 1
Pupils will spend 50 minutes per school day in their Landau 1 tutor groups, with pupils form all age groups coming together to help each other succeed in the Academy. With the leadership of our fourteen strong personal tutors, every child will have the opportunity to complete extended learning, develop literacy and numeracy and ICT skills and explore a range of different activities from both within and beyond the curriculum. Higher up the school, Landau 1 pupils will be able to complete coursework and revise, as well as offer help and guidance to younger pupils. In 2012, Landau 1 were the inaugural winners of the Sports Day Cup, and this success should drive us forward to further success in 2013.
Head of House – Mr Martin
Usually seen at tutor time visiting various tutor bases, Mr Martin can also be seen at the front of Gatherings, in his office, or teaching in E Corridor. He is responsible for behaviour, attendance and punctuality of all students, whether directly or through his great team of tutors. He is also in charge of making sure all students in Landau 1 achieve to their full potential throughout their stay at the Academy.
Student Support Manager – Mrs Brown/Mr Lee
Working together to cover the whole of Landau 1 and 2, these two brilliant people make sure that every behavioural and pastoral concern is dealt with swiftly and efficiently. This leaves us with a happy and safe group of pupils who are capable of achieving their full potential.
Personal Tutors
These fourteen individuals are the front line in every Landau 1 student’s battle with attainment, attendance and punctuality. They are also the first people to talk to about any day to day issues in the Academy.
